The mayor of Minneapolis said Wednesday that the police officer seen on video kneeling on the neck of George Floyd, who was handcuffed and later died, should be arrested.
Mayor Jacob Frey said that Hennepin County Attorney should "act on the evidence before him" and arrest and charge the "arresting officer" who was caught on camera with his knee on the back of Floyd's neck for several minutes.
Frey said during a press conference, "I've wrestled with, more than anything else over the last 36 hours, one fundamental question: Why is the man who killed George Floyd not in jail? If you had done it, or I had done it, we would be behind bars right now." (FOX News)
