IN BLANKSTARE NEWS: Cookie baking bummer …

Cookie baking bummer … It’s cookie baking season, and if you are a home baker or you live with a home baker, you know the best part of the process is eating the raw dough. Sadly, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have just announced a reminder that it is not safe to eat raw cookie dough and cake mix and they strongly urge people not to do it. The concern is contracting the dreaded E.coli or Salmonella from the raw flour and raw eggs used in the dough. According to the CDC, "When you prepare homemade cookie dough, cake mixes, or even bread, you may be tempted to taste a bite before it is fully cooked. But steer clear of this temptation. Eating or tasting unbaked products that are intended to be cooked, such as dough or batter, can make you sick. Children can get sick from handling or eating raw dough used for crafts or play clay, too." (The Hill)
