United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention’s Broward Youth Coalition (BYC)will be hosting itsVirtual Youth Leadership Institute(YLI), via Zoom, on Wednesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 23.This FREE, 2-Day FUN virtual youth summit for middle and high school students will focus on mental health promotion, self-care during a pandemic, youth empowerment, leadership, advocacy through youth-led sessions, and will provide a chance for youth to connect with their peers.
Former professional wrestler and motivational speaker Marc Mero will serve as the Keynote Speaker. Mero has dedicated his life to helping others be the "Champion" they are destined to be, through his inspiring life story of adversity and empowerment. In addition, special guest appearances will includeCelebrity Chef Chris Valdes who is a philanthropist and finalist on the last season of Food Network Star and Star Salvation; and former/current pro-athletes from the NFL and NBA and local radio personalities like Stichiz from 103.5 The Beat.
