University Declines to rename Building for Botham Jean

Many might remember the heartbreaking case that received national attention of Botham Jean a young man who was shot and killed in his apartment by former officer Amber Guyger who says she walked into the wrong apartment back on September 6th, 2018 in Texas. Jean who was known as an upstanding guy and active within his school according to friends and family members was also student body president of Harding University Arkansas' largest private college.

After the murder of Jean students sent out a petition pushing for one of the buildings to be remaned after the former student body president however reports have recently come out that "Harding University President Bruce McLarty wrote a letter to the campus last week saying the name change won't happen. McLarty says he plans to honor Jean "prominently and permanently" on campus but hasn't determined how."

Guyger was convicted with a 10-year murder sentence.
