Stichiz sits down with community leader Ms. Jumorrow-Terra Johnson to talk about the growing problem of Human/Sex and Child Trafficking in South Florida. Find out why there seems to be a peak in trafficking during SUPER BOWL Weekend.
Ms. Jumorrow-Terra Johnson is a Certified Victim Services Practitioner for the State of Florida with over 20 years of experience in the Criminal Justice arena, Jumorrow-Terra holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Sociology and a Masters’ Degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining the FAU Police Department as their Victim Advocate, Jumorrow-Terra served as the only Victim Advocate for Plantation Police Department where she assisted victims of any and all crimes with court issues/proceedings, referring victims to appropriate services, assisting victims with obtaining restraining orders/injunctions, accompanying victims to court hearings when needed, collaborating and networking with community based organizations and NGO(s) to assure the victim’s needs were being met. Jumorrow-Terra was also assigned any and all Missing Persons Investigations where the circumstances were not exigent in nature and/or life threatening. Jumorrow-Terra’s level of expertise include assisting and working with victims of Sexual Battery/Assault, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Jumorrow-Terra is certified in “The Reid Technique of Investigative Interviewing.” Jumorrow-Terra is an Executive Board Member of the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition and currently serves as President of the coalition.
