Basketball Team Goes Ham On Ref

Yikes, what happened during this basketball tournament in Georgia that had half of the basketball team rushing up on one of the refs? That is million dollar question. Sources say two teams the Chicago's RAW Athletics and the Houston Raptors where in the 4th quarter of the game, when a brawl broke out.  When looking at the the video below, at first glance, you would think that the players were just being way too rowdy. Not according to Coach Howard Martin R.A.W. who according to nypost.com stated the following;

"A ref actually walked up on one of our players and attacked him,” he wrote. “Everyone tried to break it all up, then the ref’s father (who was working a game on a different court) ran over to our court and rushed our guys..everyone in the gym, the other team and the directors saw everything.”

🚨REFS, COACHES, PARENTS, PLAYERS🚨 Is it ever this serious? From YahooSports: ““A ref actually walked up on one of our players and attacked him,” Martin tweeted. “Everyone tried to break it all up, then the ref’s father (who was working a game on a different court) ran over to our court and rushed our guys. Everyone in the gym, the other team and the directors saw everything.” It’s tough to tell if Martin’s account of the story is accurate based on the videos alone — as they cut in right as players are seen attacking one of the referees. Both the venue that hosted the event and the tournament director did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However either way, it was not a good moment for anyone on the court — player or official — on Sunday.” #aaubasketball #atlantafights #basketball #coaching

Though the opposing team's coach states that the team was previously yelling at each other, Coach Martin also made it a point to speak out-“Now it’s all over social media, news outlets, that my kids are a bunch of thugs and a bunch of gangbangers,” Martin told ESPN. “They’re all teenage boys. One guy came to the aid of another guy, which he shouldn’t have. He should have let us handle it.”
