Kendrick Lamar Breaks Usher's Super Bowl Record In A Single Day

Kendrick Lamar's performance at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show has received mixed feedback yet continues to set records. On February 11, it was revealed that the Pulitzer Prize-winning artist surpassed Usher's total streaming numbers from previous Super Bowl performances in just one day. Lamar attracted 133.5 million views during his live show. By Tuesday, he exceeded Usher's views on the NFL's YouTube channel, garnering over 32 million views since Sunday, reaching a total of 32 million since its debut last February. In 2024, Usher headlined the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show alongside stars like Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Lil Jon, will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri, and H.E.R. Lamar's set featured actor Samuel L. Jackson and frequent collaborators SZA and Mustard, performing hits like "HUMBLE," "All The Stars," and "tv off." He also delivered the much-anticipated Drake diss track, "Not Like Us." Last week, Usher shared some advice with Lamar when asked about the experience. He knows firsthand the significance of performing at the Super Bowl. On The Jennifer Hudson Show, Usher reflected on his own performance, stating it represents the highest level of entertainment.

Usher advised Kendrick to enjoy the moment. He said, "Savor the moment." Usher encouraged Lamar to focus less on perfection and more on the experience of performing. He noted that while it’s easy to get caught up in creating the perfect show, it’s more important to appreciate the thrill of the moment, even if things don’t go exactly as planned.
