Young Thug's Criminal Contempt Case Update!

Brian Steel, the attorney for Young Thug, has successfully overturned a previous ruling made by a YSL RICO trial judge, which found him in criminal contempt. Steel took his case to the Georgia Supreme Court, where he received a favorable decision on Tuesday. Initially, Judge Ural Glanville sentenced him to 20 days in jail for not disclosing how he learned about a private meeting involving the judge, prosecutors, and key witness Kenneth Copeland. The court stated that the interactions between Steel and Judge Glanville highlighted Glanville's involvement in the case, indicating that another judge should have handled the contempt hearing, leading to the decision's reversal. Following this, Glanville stepped down, and Judge Paige Reese Whitaker is now overseeing the case.

Steel's appeal success comes amid ongoing issues in the YSL RICO trial. Another prosecution witness, Antonio Sledge, also known as Mounk Tounk, violated his plea deal by changing his testimony during a recent hearing. He had previously agreed to confess to sixteen points about YSL and the murder of Donovan “Nut” Thomas to avoid prison time and serve probation. However, he claimed he could not remember the details, putting him at risk of facing five years in prison.

Young Thug was arrested in 2022 over claims that his YSL label operated as a criminal organization. He has been in jail since then while the trial continues to progress slowly. Keep it locked to 103.5 The Beat for more!
