Beyonce Takes Legal Action Regarding His Use of The Term "Freedom"

Beyonce has threatened legal action against former President Donald Trump after his team featured her song "Freedom" in a recent social media video. The clip shows Trump disembarking from an airplane with the song playing in the background, which is ironic since Vice President Kamala Harris has been using the same track in her campaign. Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung shared the 13-second video on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. This follows Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, using the song in a promotional video narrated by Jeffrey Wright. In the ad, Wright poses the question, “What kind of America do we want?” then challenges the audience with statements about unity and past accomplishments, declaring, “Freedom? Nobody loves it more.”

The latest developments for Harris come as she participates in the Democratic National Convention this week, with notable party figures like Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden speaking in her support. Biden, who won the presidency alongside her in 2020, emphasized that supporting Harris now is essential to “preserve our democracy” and address the “clear and present threats it faces. Earlier this month, she selected Tim Walz, the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019, as her running mate, which excited many young progressives. Meanwhile, Trump has chosen JD Vance from Ohio as his partner in the upcoming election. Stay tuned for more updates on Beyonce from 103.5 The Beat.
