Meek Mill addressed Donald Trump's remarks about Young Thug and the ongoing YSL RICO trial in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. He concurred with Trump regarding the unfair treatment Thug has faced from the judicial system and advocated for his release. "Free Jeffrey... A loving man who has helped many people in Atlanta and created millions for numerous families from nothing!" Meek stated. Earlier in the day, Trump spoke about Thug's legal troubles during an interview with Adin Ross. Ross mentioned that district attorney Fani Willis has been unjust in her treatment of the rapper. Trump replied, "I heard that actually. So, I've heard about him and I've heard he's being treated very unfairly by her [Willis], and I would tell her she needs to treat these patriots fairly—it's terrible. They're going after them." He added, "He must be treated fairly." In another part of the interview, Trump talked about the Democratic Party's potential decision to run Kamala Harris against him in the upcoming election, accusing them of staging a coup against Joe Biden. “I don’t know if I was brilliant or he [Biden] was terrible, maybe a mix of both... he’s caused significant damage to our country. I actually believe he’s smarter than her [Harris], and I think he’s really not that smart. She was convenient; she was available. They have much better candidates. All of them are better than her. They would have run, but they didn’t want to deal with her roadblock.” Trump also discussed Kanye West, calling the controversial rapper a "really nice guy" while acknowledging that he is a "complicated" individual.
