The debut of the first trailer for Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto VI has finally put an end to years of rumor and speculation. The trailer was initially leaked less than a day before its planned debut, prompting Rockstar to release it early and has gone viral, crossing 76 million views in just 18 hours. As rumored, GTA VI is set to take players to Vice City and the broader state of Leonida, and is scheduled to launch in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
While Rockstar Games previously confirmed the development of the next GTA game, this is the first-time specific details have been revealed. The trailer indicates that GTA VI will feature two protagonists, a man and a woman. The female character seems to be an ex-con, and the trailer suggests the inclusion of in-game social media, resembling TikTok- and Instagram Reel-style videos. There's also a Florida Man joke, alligators, and glimpses of the Leonida wetlands in addition to Vice City, Rockstar's interpretation of Miami.
