We don't normally do 2 songs from one artist on Yo Check This Out, but IDK's "Pinot Noir (feat. Saucy Santana & Jucee Froot)" is too cool of a composition not to highlight. Using a sample from De La Soul's "Breakadawn," which in turn samples Michael Jackson's "I Can't Help It," is the sensual stroke of The Year! IDK could literally be rapping about eating coco puffs and this song would rock! The most overused line in Hip-Hop is latest banger for just about every other song released by insert your overhyped artist here( ), "Pinot Noir" is one of the few that lives up to the hype.
In this day and age of cookie cutter tracks it truly is like Eddie Murphy's Cracker when you hear something as creative as IDK's "Mr. Police," Taking traditional 70's jazz stylings to come together with modern black strife that exists as real today as it did then. A beautifully crafted protest song that hits with the weight of the word as much as it excites the ear musically.
