Yo Check This Out: Dinner Party

Dinner Party is a modern day Supergroup made up of Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, and 9th Wonder. They released an album back in 2020, that debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz charts. The group came back together to deliver "Insane" (Feat Ant Clemons). In this day and age of people getting exited over mediocre use of memorable samples it refreshing to hear someone use a recognizable beat and making something new and refreshing with it. The track clearly samples Mtume's "Juicy Fruit" which famously got sampled by Diddy for B.I.G.'s "Juicy," which is a hip-hop classic, and "Insane" brings back the jazz feel of the original track while delivering fresh new lyrical flavor to make the song retro and new in the same breath.
