To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Original Timberland Boot and Hip Hop culture, the brand has launched a special edition boot called the Hip Hop Royalty Boot. Serving as a model for this commemorative footwear is Brooklyn MC, Lola Brooke. Timberland recognizes the enormous impact that Hip Hop has had on their brand over the past five decades, and they are proud to present Brooke, who they see as one of the voices carrying the genre into the next 50 years.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Timberland explains that the Hip Hop Royalty Boot pays tribute to the four pillars of Hip Hop - DJ'ing, MC'ing, graffiti, and breakdancing - as well as Sedgwick Ave in The Bronx, New York, where it all started.
Lola Brooke first gained national attention with her single "Don't Play With It," featuring Billy B. The song quickly gained popularity on TikTok in 2022 and eventually made it into the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Earlier this year, she signed a major label deal with Arista Records.
