Kodak Black is leaving Atlantic Records after asking to renegotiate his deal to put him on par with NBA YoungBoy.
Kodak will not re-sign with Atlantic once he fulfills his contract and will join Capitol Records. Kodak has two more albums under his current deal, including project Kutthroat Bill: Vol 1.
Orlando Wharton, who signed Kodak Black to Atlantic, joined Capitol Records as executive VP and president of the relaunched Priority Records. Black joining Capitol Records, will add Doechii, Masego, Toosii, Capella Grey, Kay Flock and TM88.
“Lil YoungBoy, he bout to fulfill his deal. I’m fulfilling my deal too,” Kodak said on Instagram Live. “I definitely can’t let him be out his deal and moving on and getting to that real bag, and I just be sitting back and just still in my fucking deal. No! … I’m getting out my deal and I’m finna get that big ol’ bag.”
