Happy Birthday Hitmaka!

It's Hitmaka's Birthday

In 2001, a young Iceberg signed to DMX's Bloodline Records and made his debut on the Exit Wounds soundtrack with the song "Dog 4 Life." His parents would interrupt his ascent by sending him to a military boarding school in Montana, and would moved to Los Angeles after finishing school in 2003 to come back as a hype man for Shawnna.

As, Yung Berg he would debut, with "Sexy Lady", which featured Junior, which became a hit in L.A.. He signed with Epic Records and dropped a six-track EP Almost Famous: The Sexy Lady EP which was released in 2007. He would make a cameo in the video for Kat DeLuna's debut single "Whine Up", as "Sexy Lady" peaked at #18 on the Billboard 100.

Berg would then record with Lil Wayne and Brisco on “Bitch Please” in 2007, and released the single "Sexy Can I", with Ray J. His debut album Look What You Made Me, featured the single "Do That There", featuring Dude 'n' Nem, and was followed by "The Business", featuring Casha, which peaked at #33 on the Hot 100. Look What You Made Me would chart at #20 on the Billboard 200.

In 2009, as Hitmaka he would form The Dream Team production group, and co-write and co-produce for Nicki Minaj's album The Pinkprint on the tracks "Want Some More", "Buy a Heart" and "Shanghai".

In 2020, he would executive-produce T.I.'s new album The L.I.B.R.A..

The internet was on fire about R&B thanks to Diddy.

Diddy asked the question on Twitter to ask if R&B was dead, and hopped on IG Live in an exchange with Mary J. Blige, who stated that R&B is alive and thriving, but repackaged when Justin Timberlake or Adele enter the conversation. Diddy also argued with Timbaland and that prompted artists and producers to come forward with their takes.

Hitmaka, fired off a message of his own.

"Diddy done lost his whole damn mind talking bout R&B dead," he tweeted. "It’s so much good R&B out if u can’t notice u gotta be outta touch. Stop trolling." He wrote, "@chrisbrownofficial @hermusicofficial @jazminesullivan @official__tink @jheneaiko @usher @jeremih @brysontiller @tydollasign @sza @summerwalker @dvsn @silksonic & MANY MORE! I feel u tho whatever to make the single go #1... is 'Gotta move on' bringing R&B back 2 life?

#Respectfully."
