It's Dave East's Birthday!
Starting his career in 2010, he gained attention from his eighth mixtape, Black Rose, which garnered the attention of Nas, who signed East to Mass Appeal Records.
In 2016, East was part of the XXL magazine's 2016 Freshman Class, and dropped his tenth mixtape, Kairi Chanel, which peaked at number 38 on the US Billboard 200. His eleventh mixtape, Paranoia: A True Story, featured Nas, Wiz Khalifa and Chris Brown and peaked at number 9 on the US Billboard 200.
He dropped his debut album Survival in 2019, and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200.
East also has an acting career, where he had a role as himself in Being Mary Jane and The Breaks, and a supporting role in the Netflix film Beats. His breakthrough came in the Hulu series Wu-Tang: An American Saga where he portrays Method Man.
