It's Big Sean's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Big Sean!

Sean got his start rhyming on a weekly basis as part of a rap battle contest held by Detroit hip-hop station WHTD. Kanye West heard about this, and gave Sean 16 bars to rap for him. Two years later, West signed Big Sean to GOOD Music and released his mixtape Finally Famous: The Mixtape. His hit single, "Get'cha Some", attained media attention and Sean released a second mixtape called UKNOWBIGSEAN. It featured the songs "Million Dollars", "Get'cha Some" and "Supa Dupa", then a third mixtape Finally Famous Vol. 3: BIG, featured Bun B, Chip tha Ripper, Curren$y, Tyga, Drake, Mike Posner, Chuck Inglish, Asher Roth, Dom Kennedy and Chiddy Bang.

In 2011 his first studio album's lead single, "My Last", featured vocals from Chris Brown and finally Famous, Sean's debut album, was released. It spawned three hit singles; "My Last", "Marvin & Chardonnay" and "Dance (Ass)", and featured guest appearances from Lupe Fiasco, John Legend, Pharrell, Kanye West, Roscoe Dash, Wiz Khalifa, Chiddy Bang, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, and Pusha T.

In 2012, Sean released the mixtape Detroit which featured guest appearances from J. Cole, Juicy J, King Chip, French Montana, Royce da 5'9", Kendrick Lamar and Tyga. His second album Hall of Fame, and was in 2013, and included features from Lil Wayne, Miguel, and Nas. Hall of Fame spawned five singles, "Guap", "Switch Up" featuring Common, "Beware" featuring Jhené Aiko and Lil Wayne, "Fire", and "Ashley" featuring Miguel.

In 2014, Big Sean signed a management deal with Roc Nation and released four new songs, "I Don't Fuck with You", "Paradise", "4th Quarter" and "Jit/Juke". The album, Dark Sky Paradise would later debut atop the Billboard 200 making it his first No. 1 album. He would release the singles for "IDFWU", "Blessings", "I Know", "One Man Can Change The World", and "Play No Games." In 2016, Big Sean released the track "Get My Shit Together" and with Jhene' Aiko formed the group Twenty88, and released the self titled album with a 15-minute short film called Out of Love.

Later that year Big Sean released "Bounce Back" as the lead single from his fourth album, I Decided, and Sean achieved his second number one album on the Billboard 200 and the album went gold. In 2017, Sean and Metro Boomin released released a collaborative album titled Double or Nothing, which included features from Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, 21 Savage, Kash Doll, Young Thug, and Swae Lee, and included the single "Pull Up N Wreck".

In 2019, Sean released "Overtime", and then the song "Single Again", which included Jhené Aiko and Ty Dolla Sign. He then released the single "Bezerk" featuring ASAP Ferg, and announced his new record would be Detroit 2. The album's lead single, "Deep Reverence", featured Nipsey Hussle, and Detroit 2 was released with features from Eminem, Jhené Aiko, and Lil Wayne. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, marking his third number-one.
