Russia's invasion of Ukraine have caused countries around the globe to put up sanctions against the nation that have prevented money from flowing in and out.
This is what is now impacting OnlyFans content creators in Russia who have had their accounts blocked or removed. OnlyFans began blocking and deleting accounts in Russia following the invasion of Ukraine, but there isn't information on whether it is political or if it was a result of the sanctions being imposed on Russia.
Many OnlyFans creators are now losing significant income due to the platform's recent move.
One OnlyFans user, Olyria Roy,posted on IG, "Unfortunately OF closed my account with hundreds of thousands dollars there just because I am Russian. They did not ask my opinion about this horrible war , they just stole money … A lot of money .. however, I will still say that money is a paper and I wish all people to stay save in Ukraine! There is no money that can justify killing..."
Other users have also expressed that they do not support the war.
OnlyFans has responded to the backlash,
"Any available balances will remain secure and pending until such time that they may be withdrawn again," OF said. "While creators are not responsible for the recent attacks on Ukraine, due to worldwide financial restrictions we have very limited methods to pay Creator accounts linked to Russia and Belarus."
