Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow are on top of the Billboard Hot 100!
“Industry Baby” hit the top of the chart.
“IT TOOK A FEW MONTHS BUT WE HERE! THANK U EVERYBODY,” Lil Nas X wrote. “INDUSTRY BABY IS THE NUMBER 1 SONG IN THE WORLD! LESSSSSGOOOOOO!”
“Industry Baby” racked up 64 million airplay impressions, 23.2 million U.S. streams, and 34,000+ downloads. “Industry Baby” is Lil Nas X’s third No. 1 single, but this will be Harlow's first.
Lil Nas X has finally gave birth to his debut album, Montero!
Filled with collaborations from Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, and Jack Harlow. But Lil Nas X dropped one surprise, with a cameo from Billy Porter in his viral music video for "That's What I Want."
On theme with his pregnancy, Lil Nas X shared a "baby registry" for each track that led to a donation page for various organizations. Lil Nas X had massive success in the lead-up to Montero, by taking the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards, bringing his "Industry Baby" music video to life. He was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People.
Kid Cudi wrote, "to have a gay man in hip-hop doing his thing, crushing records – that is huge for us and for Black excellence. The way he's unafraid to make people uncomfortable is so rocked 'n' roll."
Now comes the question whether or not all the massive lead up will be enough to dethrone Certified Lover Boy and possibly top the battle between Drake and Kanye?
