Young Thug is building “Slime City.” Thug was gifted 100 acres of open land for his birthday by realtor Trey Williams and manager Geoff Ogunlesi.
Young Thug said he plans to build “Slime City,” which will be a subdivision than a city, as the name references his trilogy of albums.
“This is hands down one of the best ways to invest your money,” Thug wrote.
He also got a pink Bentley from Gunna, a 1.8 million dollar ring from producer Wheezy, T.I. gifted Thug with Broken Heart artwork, along with new watches courtesy of Travis Scott and Drake.
Thug is considered to be influential in impacting the modern sound of hip hop and trap music. Initially releasing a series of mixtapes in 2011, he signed with Gucci Mane's 1017 Records in 2013 and released his label debut mixtape 1017 Thug.
Young Thug received mainstream success in 2014 with "Stoner" and "Danny Glover" and features on T.I.'s "About the Money", Tyga's "Hookah", and Rich Gang's "Lifestyle." He signed 300 Entertainment and collaborated on the mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1. In 2017, Thug featured on "Havana" by Camila Cabello, which became his first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year for his songwriting contribution on "This Is America" in 2019.
Thug's debut studio album, So Much Fun was then released, and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and included the singles "The London" and "Hot" , and his single "Go Crazy" with Chris Brown peaked at number three on the Hot 100, becoming his first top-ten single as a lead artist. He, then reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second time in his feature on Travis Scott's single "Franchise".
This year, Thug released Slime Language 2 which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and his second studio album, Punk, is expected in October.
