Akon received funding to move forward with building his city in Sengal. The singer received a $6 billion dollar construction grant for Akon City from KE International, a U. S. consulting and engineering firm.
Phase 1 of building is expected to be completed by 2023. Phase 2 for Akon City will go from 2024 to 2029, to be running exclusively on AKOIN cryptocurrency before its final Phase 3. All included the final phase is expected to be completed in full by 2030.
