โItโs one of those beats that are kind of like a throwaway for me. Just to be on the safe side, I always send all my beats. I sent it to [Drake] and he hit me back that night and was like, โYo, donโt give this to nobody else. Iโm using this. Send me the stems right now.โ Producer Supah Mario said.
โWhatโs Nextโ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Drake his eighth in his career.
The rest of the Scary Hours 2 three-pack included โWants and Needsโ featuring Lil Baby and the โLemon Pepper Freestyle,โ featuring Rick Ross.
Drake and Lil Baby's โWants & Needsโ is already set to be certified gold!
With over 500,000 units sold the song was one of three for Drake that debuted in the top three slots on the Billboard Hot 100.
โWants & Needsโ arrived at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart, while โLemon Pepper Freestyleโ came in at No. 3.
Drake is the only artist in the seven-year history of the Billboard Artist 100 to appear on the chart every week!
The chart launched 350 weeks ago in 2014, and Drake has spent 350 weeks straight on the chart. Even more impressive is that 2014 was one of the quietest years for Drake, as his most notable release was the "0 To 100/The Catch Up."
Drake made history, becoming the first artist to ever have three songs debut in the Top 3 of the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
"What's Next" reached 49.1 million streams and 19,000 downloads sold in a single week, "Wants and Needs" 41.5 million streams and 17,000 downloads, "Lemon Pepper Freestyle" 32.1 million streams and 15,000 downloads sold.
Drake joins The Beatles and Ariana Grande as the only artists to have three songs rank in the top 3 simultaneously.
