The Songwriters Hall Fame Announces Their Inductees For 2020

The Songwriters Hall of Fame announced the next class of inductees and the list is IMPRESSIVE! This exclusive club already includes artists like, Missy Elliot, Jermaine Dupri and Jay Z, but why not add a few more?

Iconic duo, The Neptunes, who are responsible for writing for some of hip hop’s biggest artists (Jay Z, Nelly and The Clipse) are included. Also being inducted? The unstoppable queen herself, Mariah Carey, who just scored her 19th Number 1 single on Billboard’s Hot 100 list with her iconic Christmas anthem, “All I want For Christmas Is You”.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman Nile Rodgers recently said, “The first thing you need to know is it’s about the song, the second thing you need to know is it’s about the song, the third thing you need to know is it’s about the song.” - “I am very proud that we are recognizing some of the culturally most important songwriters of all time and that the 2020 slate of inductees represents diversity and unity across genres, ethnicity and gender, writers who have enriched our lives and in their time literally transformed music and helped make it what it is today.”

The ceremony goes down June 11th at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.
