One of the most successful stage dads in the industry has just passed away.
News sources say Joe Jackson passed away Wednesday at 3:30 AM, at age 89, due to terminal cancer. He went with his wife Katherine, and some children and grandchildren by his side.
Joe's health has been up and down since 2015 when he had a stroke and 3 heart attacks, for which doctors decided to implant a pacemaker.
Joe built the careers of his children with the Jackson 5, and futher created successful solo careers for Michael and Janet, who have been icons in their own right.
A rep for Michael's estate tells us, "We are deeply saddened by Mr. Jackson’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the family. Joe was a strong man who acknowledged his own imperfections and heroically delivered his sons and daughters from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to worldwide pop superstardom."
