According to The Shaderoom,
It was an emotional day inside a South Carolina courtroom after U.S. District Judge David Norton sentenced former South Carolina police officer Michael Slager to 20 years in prison for the deadly shooting of UNARMED black man Walter Scott.
According to ABC News, both sides wept in court. The judge had ruled that Slager committed second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
The ruling comes two years since Scott was killed. Slager shot and killed Scott on April 4, 2015. He ended up getting fired shortly after a video surfaced of him shooting Scott as he was running away.
