Georgina Mompiere, a college student in San Antonio, was worried for her mother and brother in Texas after their home was destroyed in #HurricaneHarvey.
The two settled into a shelter at a church where Mompiere's mother struck up a conversation with Jaqueta Veltz, who she knew from the choir. Selflessly, Veltz offered to let Mompiere’s brother and mom move into her home that had just placed on the market!
Veltz not only bought Mompiere's brother a bedroom set, but she let furniture behind so the house could feel like home, and left them some food in the fridge.

“I’m forever grateful for her,” Mompiere added, her voice cracking as she broke down in tears. “I’m honestly so thankful, I”ll forever be thankful,” she said. “It’s a big thing. No one just gives away their home like that. She left food in the fridge, furniture…it’s not anything you just hear of.”
