The rainy season means Miami-Dade's fertilizer ban is in effect. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava putting out a public service announcement saying the goal is to reduce the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus entering water resources like Biscayne Bay. From now through the end of October, you can't fertilize within twenty feet of the top of any water body or storm drain. The county's regulations do not apply to farm operations, livestock pastures and some athletic fields and golf courses.
