Young Thug Removes Gunna Diss

Young Thug has switched it up on the track “Superman,” his feature on Lil Baby’s new album The Leaks. The original version included lyrics interpreted as a shot at Gunna, but the updated album release no longer contains the disputed lines.

This edit comes against the backdrop of a complicated history between the two artists. Young Thug and Gunna, long-time collaborators and central figures in YSL, saw their relationship strained following the 2022 YSL RICO indictment. Gunna accepted an Alford plea in late 2022, which sparked public speculation and internal tension within the YSL camp. Though Gunna has repeatedly denied cooperating against Young Thug, the plea deal led to a wave of distancing from various artists and industry figures.

Young Thug’s decision to remove the diss toward Gunna from “Superman” aligns with the tone he has expressed in recent interviews. Though he acknowledged feeling hurt by how the situation unfolded during the YSL case, he also emphasized that he does not have active “beef” with Gunna. Instead, Thug described the tension as emotional rather than adversarial, rooted more in disappointment than hostility.

Young Thug and Gunna built years of collaboration, mentorship, and friendship. Editing the track suggests Thug may not want a permanent record of a moment of hurt overshadowing that relationship.
