Akon Arrested in Georgia on Outstanding Warrant

Akon found himself in police custody this week in suburban Atlanta after a long-standing legal matter surfaced. On November 7, 2025, Chamblee, Georgia police arrested him on an active bench warrant issued by the Roswell Police Department.

The origin of the arrest traces back to September 10, when Akon’s white Tesla Cybertruck was located stranded in Roswell after its battery died. At that time police discovered his driver’s license had been suspended since January 2, 2023 for failure to appear in court, and the vehicle lacked valid insurance.

Because he skipped the required court date connected to that September incident, a warrant was taken out. When a traffic-camera alert identified his vehicle at a Tint World on Chamblee Dunwoody Road, authorities moved in, he complied quietly, and he was booked into the DeKalb County Jail. He was released roughly six hours later.
