Prosecutors Claim Lil Durk's Associates Threaten A Judge and more

Federal prosecutors allege that Chicago rapper Lil Durk and his music associates Only the Family (OTF) are at the center of a high-stakes criminal case. In a recent court filing, they maintain that OTF isn’t simply a label — but an enterprise that “operates like a street gang” and has a documented violent history.

Prosecutors claim OTF members engaged in retaliatory violence, including a 2022 Los Angeles gas-station shooting funded by OTF associates, reportedly ordered to track and target a rival after the 2020 killing of OTF-affiliated rapper King Von.

In the motion, prosecutors reference “defendant Banks’ … disregard for the judicial process,” citing an incident where Lil Durk allegedly possessed an Apple Watch with cellular capability while in custody and attempted to destroy it.

Lil Durk’s legal team disputes the framing. They argue the prosecution’s claims are speculative and mischaracterize OTF as a criminal network rather than a legitimate music-business entity. They further contend that the anonymous jury motion would hamper their ability to ensure a fair, impartial process.

The defense’s challenge to the credibility of threat allegations, and whether those claims will influence juror perception or procedural rulings.
