The proclamation was made during his sold-out show, where fans packed the venue to witness his return to the stage after a long hiatus. City officials cited his influence on youth culture, chart success, and resilience in the face of controversy as reasons for the honor.
NBA YoungBoy has over 30 platinum and gold singles under his belt.
Despite legal issues, he remains one of the most streamed artists on YouTube.
