Tory Lanez has officially hit another legal roadblock. A California appeals court has denied his request to overturn the 10-year sentence he’s currently serving for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, argued that his constitutional rights were violated throughout the trial process. He claimed his legal team didn’t have access to key evidence; specifically, DNA testing on the firearm, which he believes could have changed the outcome. The court, however, wasn't convinced, also rejecting his claim that prosecutors acted improperly during the case.

While Lanez continues to maintain his innocence, this latest appeal denial means he’ll be staying behind bars for the foreseeable future—unless new legal strategies emerge.
He faces 10 year prison sentence.
Eligible for Parole: 2029.
Convicted on 3 felony counts in December 2022.
