Diddy Rejects Plea Deal Ahead of Criminal Trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs has declined a federal plea deal just days before his high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering trial is set to begin. The decision, confirmed during court today, May 1. Diddy's pre-trial hearing, meas he will face a jury on charges that could result in a life sentence if convicted.

The plea offer, which prosecutors suggested would have reduced his prison time in exchange for a guilty plea reportedly; details of plea deal have not been made public at this time. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated that Combs believes in his innocence and feels a responsibility to stand up not just for himself, but for others who have been targeted by the federal government

The trial, scheduled to start with jury selection on May 5 and opening statements on May 12, . The charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution will be heard.

In another development in court today, Judge Arun Subramanian granted Combs permission to appear in court dressed in business attire rather than the standard prison jumpsuit.
