Soulja Boy is speaking out after a Los Angeles jury awarded a $4 million judgment to his ex-assistant/ ex-girlfriend, who accused him of sexual assault and abuse during her time working as his assistant. "Mr. Do it first"; DeAndre Way, maintains his innocence and says he's committed to appealing the verdict.
“I’m standing on the truth and I’m fighting to clear my name,” Soulja said in a statement following the ruling. “The facts were overshadowed,".... he continued to read his response saying.."I’m exposing the truth.”
The lawsuit, filed by a woman who once worked closely with the rapper, alleged repeated instances of assault over a two-year period. Soulja’s legal team contends the claims are false and will present new evidence as part of the appeals process.
Soulja Boy claims he doesn't have $4 million ready to handover. Soulja in his response says that the case has not been fair where the accuser is able to remain a Jane Doe; while he is torn down in public and has to defend himself.
Jane Doe in court documents houses statements from the victim of being abused for over two years repeatedly and raped, sometimes consensual relations by Soulja Boy. She began employment in 2018; she filed suite in 2021.
Soulja Boys lawyers, meanwhile, painted the accuser as a bitter former love “motivated by jealousy, revenge and financial gain”: “She wanted to be paid. Soulja Boy and his legal team claim she just wanted to be paid is the basis of her suit from jump.
