Atlanta rapper Yak Gotti has officially learned his release date and is expected to be a free man in just three years. Originally arrested in May 2022 as part of the Atlanta prosecutor's office; YSL RICO indictment that shook the Atlanta hip-hop community. Fani Willis began her reign pointing out that she Yak Gotti faced serious charges connected to the alleged criminal enterprise.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis began her tenure with a firm commitment to tackling street gangs and reducing gun violence in Atlanta. However, her aggressive approach has drawn particular attention for its focus on the city’s rap community—most notably, YSL record label.
What was intended as a broad anti-gang initiative quickly placed a spotlight on high-profile artists, sparking debate over the line between criminal activity and artistic expression.

As part of a plea deal, Yak pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and received a sentence of 12 years and nine months. However, with time served and additional factors considered, his announced release is now set for 2028.
