French Montana moved to the United States from Morocco at the age of 13, accompanied by his mother, father, and siblings. The family overstayed their visas, and after his father faced several failed business ventures, they found themselves in significant financial hardship.
At one point, French Montana's father returned to Africa, leaving his mother, French, and his two brothers behind. Montana recalls how his mother had to work tirelessly, juggling three jobs to support the family. Eventually, French had to hit the streets himself to hustle and make ends meet.
After achieving success, French shared how he was able to give back to his mother by securing her a Green Card, allowing her to finally visit her family in Morocco for the first time in 25 years. The African-born rapper has racked up major industry accolades, with five studio albums and 26 mixtapes under his belt. He’s also the most-streamed African-born artist according to Google.
