The federal jail has gained a notorious reputation, often referred to as “hell on earth” and an “ongoing tragedy” since it opened in the 1990s, according to the Associated Press.
In their failed attempt to secure bond for their client, Diddy’s lawyers highlighted the “horrific” conditions at MDC Brooklyn, referencing the murder of an inmate this past summer and four suicides over the last three years.
This same federal jail has previously housed other high-profile inmates such as R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell; the convicted sex trafficker and co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein.
Diddy has not received a trial date as of yet. He has been ordered to remain behind bars until trial starts.
