Sangamon County Sheriff, Jack Campbell asked for forgiveness for the department failing Sonya Massey the night she called 911 for help.
Massey was shot and killed in her kitchen by Deputy Sean Grayson. She called authorities seeking help with a possible intruder. Somehow things went left during her conversation with officers.
Sheriff Jack Campbell also mention that "calling for a resignation would not solve anything". His apology to the family and public ran deep on how he failed the citizens of Sangamon.

The police department as fired Grayson and he's been charged with first-degree murder. He is currently being held in jail without bail. Video footage of his comments after the shooting have been made public. Grayson is heard speaking harshly about the deceased.
