Donald Trump and 18 Others Indicted In Fulton County

Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis is charging former US president Donald Trump with voter tampering in the 2020 elections; to overturn his defeat in Georgia. The indictment refers o the defendants as a "criminal organization".

In a 98-page indictment,41 charges are listed against 19 defendants. Fani Willis announced she was giving the defendants the opportunity to voluntarily surrender no later than noon on Friday August 25. Her plans are to try all 19 listed together.

The indictment says the defendants "knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favour of Trump". Trump is accused of 13 felony charges; counts of racketeering, solicitation of violation of oath by public officer, conspiracy to impersonate a public officer, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, false statements and writings and filing false documents.They have been accused of other crimes including influencing witnesses, computer trespass, theft and perjury.

The indictment by the Atlanta grand jury is the fourth to implicate the former president. Fani Willis and team did a 2 year investigation which includes charges against Rudy Giuliani (Trump attorney), former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, several advisors. Trevian Kutti, former publicist for Kanye West is also included.

Trump has decried the Georgia investigation as a "political witch hunt". His attorneys are criticizing the indictment process as "flawed and unconstitutional."

Trump has been indicted in four cases concerning election tampering as he continues to lead the Republican party in the 2024 presidential race.
