LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players to step on the court. With four NBA titles, numerous MVPs,along with his scoring records LeBron is considering retirement after this years NBA season. Hit with slander after being swept by the Denver nuggets during the Western NBA Conference finals.
Over the weekend LeBron took to twitter and left a message for fans reminding them that he is still the best basketball player in the game.
Completing his 20th NBA season James told ESPN he will consider retirement this season. He closed out the last game in the Western Conference finals with 40 points against Denver. The Lakers fought to the end losing to the Denver Nuggets scoring 111 points to their 113 points.
He ended the news conference telling the audience, " Going forward with the game of basketball, I've got a lot to think about."
James, 38 years old has one season remaining on his contract with the Lakers, worth $46.7 million for 2023-24, and a player option for the following season worth $50.4 million. LeBron has big business to consider and is not the first basketball star to have retiring while being "great" on their mind. Hall of Famer, basketball legend,Michael Jordan retired two times from the NBA. He explained to press at the time how he lost the love the drive and desire that was needed to continue to playing at such a high level, plus he wanted to spend more time with his family. Both athletes are about around the same age when considering "NBA retirement".
