On Tuesday May 8 a Los Angeles judge denied Tory Lanez's request for a new trial. The Canadian rapper was convicted in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in December of last year. Lanez never took the witness stand but maintain his innocence by pleading not guilty.

Judge Herriford came to his decision after a five hour hearing of Tory's lawyer argue for a new trial. Tory begged the judge for a new trial saying, " Your honor, please don't ruin my life." Originally the judge ruled Tory would be sentenced within 30 days of the decision on the motion for a new trial.
