The two women caught up in the payment scandal is actress Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model. She was Playmate of the Year in 1990. McDougal has admitted to having an affair with Trump in 2006 and 2007. Trump has denied having a sexual relationship with her.

.

It has been reported by Reuters American Media Inc. (AMI), has admitted to paying McDougal $150,000 for the rights to her story to prevent her from going public with it during the 2016 presidential elections.

Judge Juan Merchan set the next trial hearing for Dec. 4. The trial may take up to a year before it gets started. In the meantime an indictment or conviction will not legally hender Trump from running for president.

Once returning home to Mar-A-Lago in West Palm Beach, Fl, the 76-year-old addressed his friends and family thanking them for their support.

"I never thought anything like this could happen in America," Trump said. "The only crime that I've committed has been to fearlessly defend our nation against those who seek to destroy it." Trump said.
