Jurors returned to court today (Monday March 13) to reach a verdict in the case of XXXTentacion's robbery and murder trial. Day 22 ended the same as last Friday with no verdict reached. The three men accused of the murder robbery outside of the in a Ft. Lauderdale, Fl motorcycle dealership could potentially face life sentences for the crime committed five years ago.
Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Williams are all charged with armed robbery and first-degree murder. All the young men are between the ages of 24-28,with charges that carry mandatory life sentences if convicted. The death penalty was not requested.
Robert Allen, the fourth accused already plead guilty last year to second-degree murder and has testified against his ex-friends. Robert testified that they set out the day of to commit robberies. They went went to the same motorcycle shop as XXX to buy Williams a mask. It wasn't until they saw the Florida rapper and decided to rob him.
The panel of 12 jurors deliberated for five hours on Friday. A total of about 10 hours since getting the case late Wednesday. They made their first request of Circuit Judge Michael Usan. The request was to see transcript of the statement alleged leader Dedrick Williams gave detectives after his arrest. Non was presented at trial, so they were advised to rely on their recollection of what detectives testified about it.
