Cardi B. and Offset are a powerhouse couple in the rap game. Recently their McDonald's partnership is being questioned by franchise owners. The popular restaurant is known for teaming up with artist in the music industry. Not all franchise owners are happy with the decision to promote the New York rapper and husband Offset meal deal.
The Wall Street Journal, reported Cardi and Offset's partnership hasn't been openly welcomed. Owners have reportedly been voicing concerns over the couple not exemplifying the family-friendly values of the company. Some owners emailed each other to encourage owners to ban together in "their" decision to not promote Cardi B. and Offset's meal. The rapper's "lyrics and lifestyle" are the reason why individual owners are refusing to keep promotion material up in their stores and have urged other franchisees to remove advertising and merchandise.
Tariq Hassan, McDonald's U.S. Chief Marketing Officer said the coples meal was a celebration of love. The commercials dropped around Valentine's Day.
For the record Cardi and Offset have a blended family of five kids.
