Who Told Police About Shootings In YNW Melly Case?

YNW Melly has been in Miramar, FL police custody since February 2019 awaiting trial. The young rapper was accused of double homicide while he was scheduled to have a big year putting out projects with artist like, Kanye West, Lil Baby, T- Grizzley and even Juice World.

Melly's run-ins with the justice system go back for a minute. He was sentenced home detention on his 18th birthday in 2017. Melly apologized to his fans for having to be locked up for six months.

On October 26, 2018 two brothers, YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser were murdered in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A Miramar police spokesperson stated, that "they were dead already" upon the arrival to the Memorial Hospital Miramar.

 

Police allege that Melly shot and killed the brothers, Williams and Thomas while in a car. Police reports show that YNW Bortlen was involved by attempting to cover the shooting up. Bortlen allegedly tried to stage the scene as a drive-by shooting. Police records also state that YNW Melly cellphone was in the area of the crime committed.

Melly plead not guilty to all charges. YNW Bortlen was arrested and released on house arrest. YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser's estate is suing Melly for wrong death. Melly is no longer facing the death sentence for double homicide.
