The Potential Witness List For Young Thug YSL Trial

The jury selection for Young Thug, YSL Rico trial as begin today (Jan.4). The trial may be a lengthy one for there are over 300 potential witnesses listed. The task will left up to twelve individuals including alternates slected to decipher through the evidence presented during trial.

There will be 13 other people alongside Young Thug on trail. Thug's lawyers and prosecutors referred to him by his birth name, Jeffery Williams as both sides adamantly push for jurors to serve of his peers.

Jeffery Williams has been named the founder and leader of YSL, Young Slime Life. Prosecutors are saying YSL is not just a music label. It's a street gang attached to much of the violence around the city of Atlanta, GA. Jeffery's art is being pulled into question by prosecutors. Jeffery mirrored his childhood upbringing in his lyrics which are being questioned. This case has also struck up the ever existing debate over art being used in judicial trials. The outcome of Thug's trial will potentially affect art and Hip-Hop culture. There has been a movement started to protect black art.

The Grammy winning rapper is facing 8 charges out of the original 65. Court documents obtained by TMZ Thug has possession and intent to distribute meth, hydrocodone, and marijuana, possession of amphetamine, Alprazolam, codeine (two counts) and carrying a firearm.
