Judge Ural Glanville has set a trial date to begin in January. Ruling Judge Glanville explained his decision;
“Most of these people have no bonds. That is something that weighs heavily on the court in terms of a start date for this trial,” he explained of his decision. “They deserve to have a right to go to trial.”
The Atlanta prosecutors attempted to delay the trial until March. District Attorney Fani Willis advised the court that 300 witnesses will be called by prosecutors to the stand. Judge Glanville denied the motion.
Trial is set to start January 9, 2023. Jury selection will begin on January 5.
