It has been hurricane season for some time now. Hurricane Ian is on the way and headed for Tampa, FL. Ian is bringing a lot of rain and wind along its path. It has been reported that it is in category 2 status at the moment. The water death on the roads may not be safe. Do not drive through flooded areas. The flood watch is until Thursday morning.
Tropical Storm force winds are expected for the Lower Keys, with the strongest winds occurring Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. There may be a period of sustained winds 35 to 45 mph, gusting to 60 mph. Miami-Dade & Broward counties may experience its strongest winds on Wednesday, sustained 20 to 25 mph, gusts 35 to 40 mph.
There may be some isolated tornadoes. South Florida is under a Flood Watch through Thursday morning with a widespread 4 to 6" of rain forecast, isolated 10".
The Keys should prepare for storm surge-- the forecast is for 2 to 4 feet.
