Dwayne Wade's son has been on journey of living his life to the fullest. The then twelve year old asked his dad to refer to him as, she or her. He also requested to be called Zaya instead of Zion. Zion is now 15- years old and continuing his journey.
To support gender identity for his son, Wade has filed legal documents to change the name and the gender of his son. Wade did his first interview discussing his transgender son to Ellen on her popular day time talk show. Wade shared on the interview that his son felt like a girl since the age of 12.
Zaya has been featured in many fashion shows and has appeared on the red carpet. Zaya is now the youngest public spokesman for the LGBTQ+ Community.
